Ilya Sutskever’s AI Startup Nears $1B Fundraising
Safe Superintelligence Fundraising Round
Safe Superintelligence, an AI startup founded by Ilya Sutskever, a former chief scientist at OpenAI, is reportedly nearing the completion of a fundraising round that could exceed $1 billion. The startup’s valuation has risen to approximately $30 billion, surpassing previous estimates.
According to Bloomberg, the venture capital firm Greenoaks Capital Partners is leading this investment round, committing $500 million. If terms remain unchanged, this funding will increase Safe Superintelligence’s total capital raised to around $2 billion.
Sutskever is highly regarded in the AI community, recognized for his significant contributions to advancements at OpenAI, including the foundational techniques behind ChatGPT’s creation. The founding team of Safe Superintelligence also includes former OpenAI researcher Daniel Levy and ex-Apple AI projects lead Daniel Gross.
Despite its impressive funding, Safe Superintelligence has not yet generated revenue and does not plan to market AI products in the immediate future.
